The game takes place during the 1991 Gulf War and once again has players operating as either US Special Forces or British SAS operatives. With games like SOCOM II and Rainbow Six 3 occupying gamers on PS2 and Xbox both on- and offline, the lack of cooperative multiplayer shooters on GameCube made Desert Storm II a belated, but welcome addition to the lineup. Though it may not be as timely as it once was, the sequel to last year's squad-based shooter helps fill an important niche on GameCube. Originally released for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC, Conflict: Desert Storm II: Back to Baghdad has finally made its way to GameCube.
